This scholarship is for deserving members of Mortar Board pursuing postgraduate degrees in any field. Past recipients are ineligible. Applicants must be current or former collegiate members of Mortar Board. Candidates will be judged on their academic record, recommendations, goals and objectives, and contribution and commitment to Mortar Board. To apply, you'll need to submit two recommendation letters and a personal statement.

It's basically a summary of why you're great and deserve the scholarship or funding you're applying for! Typically, students ask teachers, mentors, coaches, or employers (never family or friends). FYI: You have to ask someone to write a letter of rec for you.
