Graduate Students
The Hartford Foundation offers $3,000 scholarships to hundreds of graduating high school seniors, adult learners, and graduate students throughout the Greater Hartford region. Some scholarships are based on merit, financial need, or extracurricular activities. To apply, simply complete an easy eligibility quiz to see which of the 150+ scholarships you qualify for, and then submit the required material, whether it's an essay, transcript, or recommendation letter. Local students have a very high chance of winning, so don't miss out!

You'll typically need to create an account to apply for a scholarship, and submit your application through their website—this is called a scholarship application portal. Not all scholarship providers use portals—some will just require that the application materials be sent via email. Tip: it's a good idea to write down your usernames and passwords to keep track of all your applications!
If you haven't heard back within a few weeks, reach out to the scholarship organization! Some scholarship organizations email all the applicants to let them know if they were selected or not, while others only contact the winners—it usually depends on the number of applicants. It never hurts to follow up.
To prioritize your scholarship applications, think about which scholarships you have the best chance of getting (the most specific ones, with more than one winner), the ones due the soonest, and the ones that are awarding the most money.
Tip: We recommend you make a schedule for yourself to follow to stay organized and on track throughout the scholarship application season! You can always ask a Mos advisor for help.
