Overview
The ACS-Hach Second Career Teacher Scholarship is awarded to US citizens or permanent residents who are professionals in the chemistry field pursuing new careers as high school chemistry teachers. To be eligible, you must have a Bachelors degree or higher in chemistry or a chemistry-related discipline, have at least one-year work experience in a chemistry-related profession, cannot have more than one year of experience as a high school chemistry teacher, and be accepted into an education masters program or teacher certification program. Transcripts and a letter of intent are required to apply.

If you haven't heard back within a few weeks, reach out to the scholarship organization! Some scholarship organizations email all the applicants to let them know if they were selected or not, while others only contact the winners—it usually depends on the number of applicants. It never hurts to follow up.
To prioritize your scholarship applications, think about which scholarships you have the best chance of getting (the most specific ones, with more than one winner), the ones due the soonest, and the ones that are awarding the most money.
